Supporting families on their journey to bring their baby home.
The mission of Umbrella for Infants is to support families with sick infants by offering individualized care, funding research, and identifying helpful resources during each baby's journey.
Why we are here:
On January 11th, 2017 our daughter, Ella, was born by emergency c-section. For the next 3 ½ months we spent every moment we could with our daughter in the NICU while she battled a rare autoinflammatory disease. She passed away on April 30th, 2017. During her short life, she taught us many things including the importance of helping others when you can and accepting help when you need it. Umbrella for Infants will honor her memory by providing individualized support and care for families facing unimaginable challenges. We were very fortunate during our hospital stay to receive extensive support from family, friends, co-workers, and our community. We hope we can provide that same support to families that might need a helping hand.
What We Do:
Provide care packages to families during their baby's stay at the hospital
Provide individualized support for families at the level that they are comfortable with
Provide financial support as needed, such as helping with transportation/parking costs, food, and medical /special testing bills
Help families balance their hospital and personal lives by providing meals, household chores, and/or coordination of child care for other children in the family
Coordinate special events, such as a date night or an event where families can connect with each other and develop support systems
Help connect families to additional resources that may be helpful during their personal journey
Bereavement support as needed
